M. Maxine Cochran
M. Maxine (O’Millian) Cochran, 89, formerly of Tiffin, died at 2:25 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1933, in Tiffin, to Roy A. and Jessie M. (Wink) Gregory. She first married George O’Millian in December 1953 and he died July 18, 1974. She then married John Cochran on April 26, 1975, and he died Jan. 12, 2005.
Surviving are the following children: Gregory (Cindy) O’Millian, Alvada; Bonnie (Dan) Parsons, Mt. Cory; Stephen (Kim) O’Millian, Fostoria; Kevin (Laura) O’Millian, rural Tiffin; Jody (Lisa) O’Millian, Tiffin; and step-son, John Jr. Cochran, rural Tiffin. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky O’Millian who died on March 12, 2009; a step-son, Steve Cochran on April 1991; four brothers, Paul, Judd, Glenn and William Gregory; and one sister, Edna Weigel.
Maxine retired from the Tiffin Bake Shop after working for 33 years. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and was a 1951 graduate of Sycamore High School. For hobbies she loved to travel having visited 48 states during her lifetime and also loved to bake.
Funeral services for Maxine will be held on Thursday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Marilyn Coney officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
