Sharon Stroub

Sharon Kay Stroub, 84, of Forest, passed away at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023.
Sharon was born in Upper Sandusky, on Jan. 16, 1939, to the late Elmer and Helen (Brewer) Tong and later graduated from Carey High School in 1957. While in school, Sharon served as a lifeguard at the Carey Pool; her love for water continued throughout her entire life.
Sharon worked many years as a waitress at Evergreens in Upper Sandusky and later retired from AO Smith Westinghouse in 2001 after nearly 30 years of dedicated service.
Sharon enjoyed gardening and wanted to make sure her yard was in perfect condition. After the hard yard work was done, she could be found relaxing by her pool, cooking for friends and family and keeping an eye out for all of the homeless animals. In her younger years Sharon had a kennel where she raised Pekingese.
Sharon loved her family. Her homemade pizza and sweet potatoes were family favorites and although she constantly worried about everyone she enjoyed laughing and cutting loose around those she loved.
She is survived by her children, Lisa (Chuck) Hershey of Findlay and Steve Stroub of Forest; grandchildren, Evan Wenner and Lauren (Ethan) Gallagher; great-grandson, Silas Gallagher; cousin, Diane (John) McCarthy; and former husband, Edward Stroub.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Michael Stroub, and brother, John Tong.
A family graveside service will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
Arrangements are being handled by Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey.
