James Myers
James “Jim” D. Myers, 82, passed away at home on Friday, June 12, 2026, in Upper Sandusky.
Jim was born on June 6, 1944, in Upper Sandusky, to Clifton Burton and Esther Pearl (Yeater) Myers. He was once married to Joanne Case on April 10, 1965.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Wendy (Andy) Vent of Forest; son, Rob Myers of Marion; seven grandchildren, Morgan (Stephen) Whitaker of Kenton, Bre (Marcus) Pelfrey of Upper Sandusky, Drew (Denise) Vent of Plant City, Fla., Bailey Myers of Carey, Kendall Myers of Upper Sandusky, Taylor Myers of Marion and Addyson Myers of Marion; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ginny (Charlie) Jones of Harpster.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert “Jumbo” Myers and Tom Myers; sisters, Maxine Biglin, Frances Lawrence, Edna Bohlen, Peg Biglin and Ann Cornish.
Jim graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1962 and worked at NAPA Auto Parts in Upper Sandusky until he retired on Dec. 31, 2014, after 40 years. He was known as the “best parts man in Wyandot County.” More recently, Jim helped Don Wilson on the farm.
Jim was a long-time member of the Moose Lodge #1093, Elks Lodge #83, Eagles and AMVETS Post 777. Jim was an avid driver, loved NASCAR – especially Jeff Gordon, and he enjoyed bowling, watching the Bengals and the Buckeyes. Jim especially was proud of all his grandchildren.
A funeral service for Jim will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by the Rev. Steve Sturgeon. Burial will follow at Lee Cemetery in Vanlue.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
