LaDonna Orians
LaDonna M. Orians, 88, of Carey died Monday, Sept. 1, 2020, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
LaDonna was born Sept. 25, 1931, in Carey, to the late Clarence and Helen (Pethe) Elchert. LaDonna was preceded in death by her husband Jack Orians whom she married on June 9, 1956 in Carey, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation and cherished her 61 years with him.
LaDonna was preceded in death by her two sisters, Virginia Leonard and Jeanette Romick and her brother, Franklin Elchert. She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Nancy) Elchert, Upper Sandusky.
Also surviving are a son, Joseph (Bonnie) Orians of Findlay; daughters, Christina (Jack) Kirby, Elwood, Ind.; and Lisa (Lowell) Doss of Tipp City; grandsons, Andrew (Jessica) Doss, Sam Sprankle-Kirby and Adam Orians; granddaughters, Sheri (Joshua) Doty and Erica (Aaron) Robinson; great- grandchildren, Noah, Brian, Ashley, Lydia, Keira, Grayson, Aiden and Tatum; a sister-in-law, Wanda Orians, Carey; and many nieces and nephews whom she also loved dearly.
LaDonna worked for the Carey Times newspaper prior to working as a secretary at Our Lady of Consolation School for 25 years.
She was also a charter member of Carey and Wyandot County EMS and a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Rosary Altar Society. She hosted many dinners in her home for the Franciscan nuns.
Her love in life was serving the Lord and her family. She loved her family and children and was eager to help anyone in need.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 4, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation in Carey. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Tom Merrill, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OLC School, hospice or a charity of choice and sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home 225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316.
