Kenneth Stroub
Kenneth A. Stroub, 92, of Carey, died at 1:35 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
He was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Carey, to the late Ray C. and Margaret Marie (Rothgeb) Stroub. He married Jeannette Perkins and they divorced. He later married Dorothy L. (Winkle) Helfinstine on July 26, 1958, and she preceded him in death on November 15, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Dion (Mark) Campbell of Belle Center and Desiree Cooper of Carey; son, James Stroub of Carey; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Preceding him in death are a son, John Helfinstine; daughter, Carol Drummond; two granddaughters; two brothers, Robert Stroub and Ray Stroub Jr.; and three sisters, Audrey Stapley, Ruthie Stroub and Ethel Belle Pergram.
Kenny was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart while serving his country.
Kenny worked for the Village of Carey and Wyandot County as a truck driver. He retired from Green Thumb 30 years ago.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey with the Rev. Steve Sturgeon officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Carey Honor Guard.
