Herta Nye

Herta Paula Nye, 89, of Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria and formerly of Carey, died at 7:35 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, at Blanchard Valley Hospital’s Bridge Hospice Care unit, Findlay.
She was born Sept. 15, 1931, in Vienna, Austria, to Josef and Anna (Kemeter) Kollmer. Herta married Dale Reid Nye on June 12, 1951, and he survives.
She is also survived by her daughter, Sylvia Ann (Doug) Daniels of Carey; grandchildren, Ericka (Jason) Kurtz of Carey; and Melanie (Nick) Birch of rural Fostoria; and great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Abigail Kurtz of Carey.
Herta was a house wife. She volunteered at Carey Food Pantry and Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. She was of the protestant faith.
A funeral service and visitation will not be held. Burial will be held at Zion Bloom Cemetery, Vanlue, at a later date.
Memorials can be made to Dorcas Carey Public Library or the donor’s choice.
