Betty Snook, 87, of Carey, passed away peacefully at her home at 8:01 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, with her family by her side.
Born Oct. 18, 1933, in Hancock County, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Dorothy (Snider) Shively. She married Harry C. Snook on May 5, 1951. Harry preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2005.
Betty is survived by two children: Larry (Linda) Snook of Findlay and Nancy (Roger) Murray of Upper Sandusky; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings: DeWayne Shively and Bonnie Gilboy.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Snook; a great-granddaughter; three brothers: Wayne, Butch and Jim Shively; and five sisters: Pat Heldman, Twilla Tweed, Rosie Allen, Maxine Shively and Della Zimmerman.
Betty was a homemaker and had worked at Uni-Grip in Upper Sandusky. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Carey.
She loved to bake anything for anybody whenever possible. Betty could be found most every morning with the gossip group at McDonald’s.
A private graveside service will be held at Knollcrest Cemetery near Arcadia, with the Rev. Jim Sharrett officiating.
