Mildred Franz

Mildred E. “Millie” Franz, 95, of Upper Sandusky, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Born on April 5, 1925, in Carey, she was the daughter of the late C. Raymond and Eulalia R. (Lamberjack) Lonsway.
Millie married Edward L. Franz on Nov. 20, 1948, in Carey. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1991.
She is survived by seven children, Robert (Joan) Franz, Harrisburg, Ore.; Lawrence (Angie) Franz, Swanton; Christina (Mike) Wetzel, Fremont; Thomas (Kathy) Franz, Kingwood, Texas; Jean (Rex) Ballinger, Prospect; Jane (Jim) Daniel, Rock Springs, Wyo.; and Joan (Brad) Batton, Carey; 13 grandchildren, Layla Webb, Rose Franz, Nate Franz, Luke Franz, Linda Gregory, Sarah Eden, Dirk Franz, Drew Franz, Brett Ballinger, Colleen Ballinger, Kaydin Daniel, Healy Woodard and Ian Batton; nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene, William, James and Paul Lonsway; and one sister, Rosemary Pratt.
She was a 1943 graduate of Carey High School. She was a homemaker. She had worked at Wyandot Manor and retired from Wyandot County Skilled Nursing Home.
She was a member of Transfiguration of The Lord Church, Upper Sandusky and also the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Rosary Altar Society.
Due to COVID-19 all services will be private. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic School and Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church and sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Avenue, Upper Sandusky, OH  43351.
