Florence Allison
Florence L. Allison, 91, of Carey, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky with her daughter by her side.
Born in Wyandot County on July 6, 1929, she was the daughter of Louis and Dora (Dill) Jacques. She married Floyd K. Allison on Sept. 4, 1948, in Greenup, Ky. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1999.
Surviving are her children: Bill Allison of Upper Sandusky, Keith Allison and Linda Allison, both of Carey; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty (Bob) Walker of Carey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Kenneth Allison; six brothers, George, Ralph, John, Charles, Bernie and David Jacques; and five sisters, Hazel Pickens, Mary Hayden, Darlene Tucker, Cora Lee and Delores Higginbotham.
Florence worked at Porcelain Products in her early years and retired in 1991 from Budd Co., both in Carey. She was a former member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carey.
In retirement, you could find Florence and Floyd enjoying their trailer at Lake Erie and fishing as much as possible. She also enjoyed curling up to a good book.
A private service will be held at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey, with the Rev. William Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
