Clyde Burks

Clyde M. Burks, 85, of rural Sycamore, died at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
He was born on March 16, 1936, to George and Oleta (Dible) Burks. He married Romaine (Riedel) Burks on May 29, 1954, and she survives.
Clyde is survived by three children, Dan (Pat) Burks, Jeanne (Curt) Massie and Rheta (Dave) Mason. He also has five grandchildren, Ben (Erika) Burks, Rob (Holly) Starner, Chelsea (Eric) Schnitzler, Kate (Josh) Loverich and Ian (Krystal) Mason, plus two step-grandchildren, Curt and Ryan Massie. There is also 11 great-grandchildren, Harrison, Essie, Leo, Claire, Paysen, Lilly, Grady, Sawyer, Landry, Cecelia and Maren.
Clyde also has nine brothers and sisters, Floy Swerline, Carl Burks, Owen (Phyllis) Burks, Lois (Jerry) Wolber, Virginia (Ed) Berberick, Mary Latham, Helen (Mike) Jinks, Paul (Lynn) Burks, Fred Burks and sister-in-law, Carol Burks. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald Burks and sister, Eva Pahl.
Clyde graduated from McCutchenville High School where he played basketball and baseball. He worked as a plumber, pipefitter and welder. He raced and trained standard bred horses for over 30 years. His favorite horses included Lady Adelia, Classy Time, Jimmy Bob Go and the good race mare, Candy Superstar.
For hobbies Clyde enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, painting pictures and baking his famous blackberry pies.
