Gerard Schank
Gerard Walter Schank, 73, of Carey, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021.
Gerry was born in Tiffin on June 3, 1948, to the late Herbert J. and Marcella M. (Miller) Schank. Gerry graduated from Mohawk High School in 1968. He entered into the U.S. Army and was based in Germany from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1970. After returning home, Gerry worked at American Standard for a short time then began a long career as a truck driver. He began his truck driving with The Garner Company in Findlay for four to five years and finished out his journey on the road with 22 years at Gra-Bell Trucking out of Findlay.
Gerry was gifted with the gift of gab and could talk to anyone about anything. He enjoyed spending time with his family and appreciated any time he could be with them.
In his younger years, Gerry enjoyed his motorcycle and liked old cars.
Gerry will be missed by his brother, Marion Schank of Tiffin; nieces and nephews, Bob (Cindy) Schank, Ed Schank, Anita (Dave) Poole, Dale Schank, Michael (Theresa) Stine, Teresa Stine, Roger (Denise) Stine and Greg (Lori) Stine; sister-in-law, Rose Schank; and brother-in-law, Frank Stine.
In addition to his parents, Gerry was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Stine; and nephew, Carl Schank.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13, from 1-4 p.m. at the Amvets in Tiffin.
