Bobbie Walker

Bobbie Lee Walker, 88, of Carey, passed away peacefully at 9:12 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, in the ICU at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay surrounded by family.
Born in Mountain View, Tenn. on Jan. 1, 1934, he was the son of Rad and Myrtle L. (Williamson) Walker. Looking for work, he moved to Findlay when he was 18. He settled into a job at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in Findlay and stayed for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He married Betty Ann Jacques on June 18, 1955. They enjoyed 67 years together, especially their family summer vacations back “home” in Tennessee.
Bobbie was a master woodworker and carpenter. He loved making things for his family and built the house he and Betty called home the past 36 years in Carey. Morning coffee with the guys at McDonald’s was something he looked forward to in his later years.
Bobbie leaves behind his wife, Betty; four children, Sandra Jean Walker, Julie (Samuel) Roeber, Roger Lee (Brenda) Walker and Bobbie Lee Walker Jr., all of Findlay; eight grandchildren, Jason, Audrey, Felicia, Joshua, Sam, Seth, Carrie and Aaron; 14 great-grandchildren (one on the way) and a brother, Roy (Marilyn) Walker of Findlay.
Preceding him in death were his parents and nine siblings, Georgie Walker, Ruby West, Trudy Hughett, Dallis Walker, Ed Horde, Irene Davis, an infant brother and two infant sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home in Carey. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Bobbie’s name to Dorcas Carey Public Library or the charity of the donor’s choice and sent to the funeral home.
