Franklin Hyden

Franklin D. Hyden, 65, of Carey, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2022, at Bridge Hospice Center in Findlay.
Franklin was born in Miami, Fla., on Nov. 17, 1956, to the late Henry Lee and Florence (Barnett) Hyden. He moved to Carey when he was a senior in high school where he graduated in 1974.
Franklin was introduced to Linda Sue Decker at a bar in Tiffin by his sister, Maria and the rest was history. The two were wed on Oct. 22, 1977, and spent more than 40 years together. Linda preceded Franklin in death on March 23, 2018.
Franklin worked hard for more than 35 years at the Budd Company in Carey and retired in 2020. In his free time, Franklin could often be found playing Bingo in Upper Sandusky with his friends or enjoying a good time at the Eagle’s in Carey. In younger years he could be found bowling or playing pool. Franklin and his family also took many trips to Kentucky and West Virginia for family reunions.
Franklin will be missed by his children, Heather Hyden, William “Billy” Hyden, Andrew “Andy” Hyden and Tomas “Tommy” (Katie) Hyden; grandchildren, Timmy, Isaiah, Ryan, Isabella, Josiah, Ayden and Abbie; and sisters, Maria and Sandy.
In addition to his wife and parents, Franklin was preceded in death by his step-father, David Clark and sister, Barbara Fredritz.
Visitation will be held at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey, on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 4-7 p.m. Private family burial will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey, with the Rev. Ronald Dorman officiating.
Donations may be made in Franklin’s honor to the American Cancer Society and may be mailed to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home (225 W. Findlay Street, Carey, OH 43316).
