Kathryn Huston

Kathryn Sue “Kathy” Huston, 60, of Vanlue, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born Nov. 11, 1962, in Upper Sandusky, to the late Bobby and Lucille (Walton) Lambert.
On June 13, 1987, she married Curtis A. Huston.
Kathy graduated from Vanlue High School in 1981 and earned her bachelor of arts degree in education from Bluffton College in 1985. She was a teacher and later homeschooled her daughters. A lifelong candy maker, Kathy owned and operated Chocolate Memories for over 10 years. She was an active member of Vanlue Christ United Methodist Church, where she gave the children’s messages, and previously East Mount Zion Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, reading, crafting and collecting Fenton Glass.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis A. Huston of Vanlue; two daughters, Angela Huston of Vanlue and Amanda Huston of Vanlue; half-brother, Robert Lambert of Kenton; half-sister, Sandy (William) Farabee of Mechanicsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 19, from 4-7 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, Carey. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Greene officiating. Burial will take place at Wharton-Richland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dorcas Carey Public Library or a charity of the giver’s choice.
