Charles Buckland

Charles Edward Buckland, 87, of Carey, passed away at Primrose of Findlay on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023.
Charlie was born in Carey on Sept. 20, 1935, to the late Graham and Mildred (Hotteling) Buckland and graduated from Carey High School in 1953. After graduating Charlie began working for National Lime and Stone and later retired from The United States Post Office after more than 30 years of dedicated service. In addition to working at the quarry and post office, Charlie was a lifelong farmer.
Charles married Eileen Mott and together they raised three children. Later they divorced and he remarried Cindy Lutz who survives in Findlay.
Charlie enjoyed fishing trips in Canada with family and friends, spending time in his garden and passing the time with Fred and Ferd Williams.
In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by children, Robert (Tammy) Buckland of Carey, Cheryl (Larry) Buckland-Manley of Findlay and Cindy Buckland of Arcadia; grandchildren, Bridgett (Jason) Mundy, Rich Gamby, Ben (Kortny) Buckland, Molly (Adam) Beach and Bobbi (Brian) Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Lilli, Sam, Paige, Graham, Abel, Cece, Charley and Violet.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by sisters, Annette Ulrich and Helen Rife.
Per Charlie’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. A private graveside service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie’s honor to Dorcas Carey Public Library and may be sent to Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home, 225 West Findlay Street, Carey).
