Melva Schmitz

Melva Diane Schmitz, 86, of rural Carey, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Diane was born May 27, 1938, in Carey, to Melvin and Esther (Tanner) Hotelling. She was a 1956 graduate of Carey High School. She married Robert W. Schmitz on Oct. 1, 1960. He passed Dec. 27, 2017.
Diane is survived by her brother, Ed Hotelling, Carey; and children, Eric J. Schmitz, rural Carey; and Stephanie Schmitz-Zimmerman (Scot), rural Carey. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Adam, Nicholas, Cody Schmitz, Olivia and Hannah Zimmerman; and two great-grandchildren, Izabel and Grady.
A private christian burial for Diane will be held at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Frenchtown.
