Betty Ann Wolfmeyer
Betty Ann (Conley) Wolfmeyer, Sun Lakes, Ariz., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Ariz.
She was born in Riceville, Ky., on Aug. 15, 1940, to Bruce and Ruby Ellen (Spears) Conley. Betty grew up in Carey and was a 1959 graduate of Carey High School.
After graduation Betty worked in the Findlay office of National Lime and Stone. Later she moved to Chicago and was a reservationist for American Airlines. She became an administrative assistant for Corn Products in Chicago where she met Howard Wolfmeyer. They were married on Nov. 24, 1976. In 1995, they moved from Libertyville, Ill., and retired to Sun Lakes, Ariz.
Betty was a member of Sun Lakes Methodist Church and was a volunteer with the Stephens Ministry. She volunteered with Neighbors Who Care, an organization that held a special place in her heart. Her husband was one of the founders of this organization that strives to assist seniors to remain independent and live fulfilling lives in their own homes in the Sun Lake area.
She is survived by a brother, Paul (Bonnie) Conley, Carey; three nephews, Michael (Karen) Conley, Blythewood, S.C.; David (Karen) Conley, Palmetto, Fla.; and Jeffrey (Becky) Conley, Upper Sandusky; five great-nieces, Marla Kay Conley, Kathryn Conley, Allison Conley, Kendra Conley and Kyla Conley; step-son, Thomas Wolfmeyer; step daughter-in-law, Mariana Wolfmeyer; step-grandchildren, Tim Wolfmeyer, Gail (Wolfmeyer) Jadick and David Wolfmeyer; and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Wolfmeyer; and a step-son, Scott Wolfmeyer.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 12, at 2:30 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Carey. Final resting place will be at Appleton, Wisc., with her husband, Howard Wolfmeyer.
