Mary Coppler
Mary Jane Coppler, 87, of Upper Sandusky, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025.
Mary was born on Aug. 18, 1937, in Findlay, to the late Willis and Esther (Cludy) Riegle. She married Richard “Elmer” Coppler and he preceded her in death on April 10, 1991. Mary is survived by her children, Cheri (Leland Risser) Billings and Jeff (Kim) Coppler; grandchildren, Emily (Erica Gillum) Coppler, Andrew (Sami Torres) Coppler, Seth (Emilie) Coppler, Zachary Logsdon, Garrett (Patience) Coppler and De Laney Salsbury; three great-grandchildren, Vera, Gavin and Saige Coppler; daughter in-law, Denise Coppler; and siblings, Bruce (Pam) Riegle, Paul (Lorrie) Riegle and Jim (Jodi) Riegle.
She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Coppler Jr. and siblings, Edward Riegle, Richard Riegle, Roy Riegle, Everett Riegle, Wayne Riegle and Betty Higley.
Mary was a 1955 graduate of Arlington High School. She enjoyed crocheting, reading a good mystery novel and doing a challenging crossword puzzle. She was a tremendous baker and was known for her cookies. Mary was a loving and caring individual. She loved taking care of children. She was a babysitter for many years. She was affectionately known by many as the lady who sat on the porch. She loved being outdoors, listening to the birds and watching the cars go by and always giving everyone a friendly wave. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone in a time of need.
Visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. until the time of her celebration of life service at noon at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Home, Carey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s honor to Dorcas Carey Public Library or Marion County Humane Society.
