Sarah Curlis
Sarah Ann Curlis, 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky, with her two daughters close by her side.
Sarah was born on Aug. 26, 1935, in Greenup, Ky., to the late William Dee and Emma (Nunley) Kelly. Sarah and her family made their way to Ohio where she proudly graduated from Sycamore High School in May of 1954. She married the love of her life, Robert Curlis on March 7, 1975.
Sarah is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Rotella (Russell Boes) and Tanya (William) O’Flaherty, along with seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, sisters, Emma Caudill and Roma Cartwright; brother, William Kelly; and countless nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Curlis; her daughter, Vicky McNutt; granddaughter, Jennifer McNutt; great-grandson, Liam O’Flaherty; and her four siblings, Carl Kelly, Maxine Cartwright, Shirley Tucker and infant brother, Cecil Kelly.
Her life was a testament to being tender-hearted, warm and possessing an unwavering love for her family. Sarah could typically be found watching sports and bowling on her tablet. She was adamant about keeping a full hummingbird feeder in hopes of catching a glimpse of one while on her porch swing. Her favorite time of all was sitting at the table with her husband listening to country music.
The family of Sarah Ann Curlis welcomes you to honor her memory on Friday, March 7, at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home in Carey, from noon-2 p.m. with the funeral services starting at 2 p.m.
