Elizabeth Schulz

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Schulz, 74, of Shreve, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Avenue at Wooster after a four-year battle with cancer.
Betty was born in Carey, on Sept. 18, 1950, to the late Rene J. and Jettie E. (Dell) Dubois. She graduated from Carey High School in 1968. Betty married Ronald R. Schulz on May 8, 1988, and he survives.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; her faith was a very important part of her life. Betty and Ron were former owners of Prairie Station in Big Prairie; she thoroughly enjoyed cooking and serving others as she was involved in food service all of her life. Camping was an activity that Betty always looked forward to. She also looked forward to attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with her family as she loved her family dearly.
In addition to her husband Ron, she is survived by children, Nick (Jen) Swigart of Wooster, Wendy (Dave) Franck of Tipp City, and Melissa (Brian) Gump of Wooster; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Joann Kirian of Tiffin, Joe (Mary Catherine) Dubois of Charleston, S.C.; Paul (Kathy) Dubois of West Branch, Mich.; Peter (Lynn) Dubois of Clinton Township, Mich.; Janet (Steve Banks) of Covington, Wash.; and Lucy (Greg) Kramer of Dayton; brother-in-law, Al Kessler of Findlay; numerous nieces and nephews and her close friend, Mel Ramond.
Preceding her in death is a sister, Lynda Kessler; brother-in-law, Larry Kirian; and sister-in-law, Judy Dubois.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 19, from 5-7 p.m. at Schlabach Funeral Home, Shreve. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. David Chojnacki officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
