Constance Romick

Constance “Connie” Lou Romick, 84, died Friday, April 4, 2025, at Mercy Hospital, Tiffin.
She was born on March 3rd, 1941, in Fostoria, to the late Alva and Bessie (Johnson) Wilcox. Connie married Robert Higgins in 1960 and they later divorced. Connie met Richard G. Romick and they spent 13 happy years together. They married on Jan. 21, 1999. Richard passed away on Sept. 13, 1999.
Surviving are her children Gary (Richelle) Higgins of Carey, Bryan (Meiko) Higgins of Carey, Patti (Glenn) Higgins of Forest, and Rob (Heather) Higgins of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her siblings, David (Jan) Wilcox of Vanlue, Denton (Jean) Wilcox of Vanlue, and Kendra (Michael) Sindelar of New Bremen; and special family member Darlene Angelbeck, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Greg and Terry Higgins.
Connie graduated from Vanlue High School in 1959, whereafter she attended beauty school. Connie worked in the food management services in the Hancock County and Findlay area until her retirement in 2005.
Connie celebrated her faith in God at First Christian Church of Tiffin. She was an active member of the Kiwanis Manor Senior Citizens Group and volunteered at Bridge Hospice. Connie was known for her amazing baking and cooking skills. From cookies to strawberry shortcake, candies and many other desserts, Connie loved sharing her talents with everyone. Connie also enjoyed traveling, hiking in the state parks of Ohio and taking cruises. She was an avid NASCAR fan. Connie was always the loudest cheerer in the stands for her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. She will be remembered as an amazing woman who was strong and resilient. Connie’s love for her family was the center of her world.
Visitation for Connie will be Friday, April 11, from 4-7 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Doug DeVos officiating. Burial will follow at Powell Cemetery, Findlay.
