Robert Arend

Robert R. “Bob” Arend, 89, of Tiffin, passed away on Friday morning, May 2, 2025, at Autumnwood Care Center.
He was born on May 07, 1935, in Carey, to Ralph and Mildred J. (Niederkohr) Arend. On July 23, 1966, in Fremont, he married Marie A. Nieset.
Survivors include his wife, Marie A. Arend of Tiffin; children, Angie (Edwin) Reinhart of Fostoria, John (Christine) Arend of Tiffin, Laura (Jay) Rishty of Tiffin and Tony (Stephanie Fesler) Arend of New Riegel; brother, Ronald Arend of Carey; sisters, Donna Daniel of Tiffin, Rose Schank of Sycamore, Betty (John) Mathias of New Riegel and Carol Swinehart of Upper Sandusky; and six grandchildren, Jordan (Erin) Reinhart, Leah (fiance, Logan Mattingly) Reinhart, Zach Arend, Nathan Arend, Alyssa Rishty and Jacob Rishty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Wise and Jeanette Jesko; and infant siblings, Joseph, Nancy and Jean. Bob served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959. He worked at Sterling Abrasive for over 30 years and was a lifetime farmer. Bob was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was hardworking and enjoyed mushroom hunting, being outdoors, playing cards and going on J.B. Tours.
His funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to mass. Burial will be at a later date at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Frenchtown, with military honors.
Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to a local Right to Life.
