Darrell Craft

Darrell W. Craft, 82, of Findlay, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
Darrell was born on Jan. 14, 1943, in Carey, to the late Wardie and Lucy (Crace) Craft. He married Denise Summerton and they later divorced. He then married Claire Rothman and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2010. Darrell is survived by his sister, Diana (Don) Dible; step-son, Aaron (Brooke) Rothman; step-grandson, Evan Rothman; sister-in-law, Carol Craft; brother-in-law, Jess Gump; and his special friend, Pat Tracy.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Edward Craft, Dannie Craft and Janice Gump.
Darrell was a 1961 graduate of Carey High School, where he was a pole vault champion. Upon completing high school, Darrell enlisted and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Darrell worked at Electro Sonics in Columbus, retiring after 30 years of service. Darrell also loved traveling all over the world, especially to Europe. Darrell was a member of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and had his pilot’s license. He was also a member of RC Flying Club in Findlay. Darrell was a handyman, who could build or fix anything. He was also a devoted husband and was a proud supporter of Aaron’s activities. Darrell had an outgoing personality and cherished the times he spent with his family and his friends. He especially enjoyed getting together with his former classmates.
Visitation for Darrell will be on Friday, May 16, from noon until the time of his celebration of life service at 2 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey, with the Rev. Phil Pitt officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Darrell’s honor to the local humane society of the donor’s choice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
