Larry L. Swihart, age 88, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Upper Sandusky.
Larry was born on June 27, 1937, in Wyandot County to Elton and Susan (Lawrence) Swihart, both of whom are deceased. He married Roxy Whittington on April 22, 1956, and she died Jan. 19, 2024.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Marvin (Jean), Eugene (Emily) and Melford; a sister, Mary Alice (Fred) Eckleberry; son-in-law, Mike Meyer; and granddaughter, Mackenzie Meyer.
Larry graduated from Upper Sandusky High in 1955 and shortly thereafter began his career with Westinghouse – AO Smith, working in the Upper Sandusky plant and in the Buffalo, N.Y., facility. He retired from Upper Sandusky as the assistant plant manager.
He was a long-time member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky, a life member and PER of the BPOE #83, Upper Sandusky, member and former treasurer of the Wyandot County Rod and Gun Club and member of Wyandot County Pheasants Forever, along with a council member of the Heritage Girl Scouts and Wyandot County Council on Aging.
An avid hunter and fisherman himself, Larry also enjoyed helping the youth with the local fishing derby, along with the conservation tent, of which he was instrumental in getting it established, at the Wyandot County Fair.
Larry also had a love for sports, especially hockey. While he was in Buffalo with work, he was able to play hockey on actual rinks, instead of the pond hockey in play at Leighty’s. He also enjoyed other winter sports, such as snow skiing and tobogganing, and passed on the joy of winter through sports to his daughters.
Summers were spent fishing and water skiing at Catawba Island, Buffalo and the Niagara River, along with many trips to Niagara Falls.
