Raymond Wickham
Raymond C. Wickham, 86, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
Raymond was born in a log cabin on Feb. 27, 1939, in Paintsville, Ky., to the late Reuben and Sara (Ward) Wickham. He married the love of his life and his “honey” Marie Elania Schares, on March 18, 1967, in Findlay, and she survives him.
Ray is also survived by his children, Ray (Sue) Wickham and Jason (Vicki) Wickham; step-children, Brad and Bill (Shawn); grandchildren, Bridget, Rachel (Sebastian), Jaren (Paige), Brooklynn, Charlie and Aiden; great-grandson, Brady; brother, Penny Wickham; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dianne Pratt, Nancy Todd, Larry Wickham and Garrie Wickham.
Ray was a 1957 graduate of Carey High School and a member of Christ Church in Tiffin. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Upon returning from the military, he enrolled in business classes at Tiffin University. He graduated from Comer and Durin Hairstylist School. He owned and operated a beauty shop in Findlay and later owned and operated Raymond Men’s Clothing store in Tiffin and used his expertise and became a great tailor. Ray devoted his life to his family; he volunteered and was a Boy Scout leader for his boys and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Council. Ray was always up for a challenge and wanted to learn. He was strong-willed, a hard worker and very determined. He was an excellent wood carver and painter. He was a people person and also had his pilot license. Ray had felt that he had done everything he wanted to do and more.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at Tiffin Amvets.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ray’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Boy Scouts of America.
