Debra Wentz
Debra J. (Watkins) Wentz, 68, of Carey, died on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025.
Born in Upper Sandusky, on April 12, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Robert (Faye) Watkins and Anita Fletcher (Donald) Barnes. Deb married Rollin D. Wentz on Sept. 25, 1993, in Carey. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2014.
Deb is survived by her daughter, Keely Wentz; step-daughter, Pam (Brad) Case; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Patricia Taylor and Tanya (Christopher) Marshall; step-sister, Jean Billock; half-sister, Stephanie Watkins; sister-in-law, Laura Watkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Michael Watkins, Timothy “Hoss” Watkins and Gregory Watkins, and brother-in-law, Larry Taylor.
Deb was a graduate of Carey High School in the class of 1975. She retired from CSP – Carey, where she worked as a slitter, along with many other positions throughout her 31 years of work. She was a member of the Carey Conservation and Sportsman’s Association, the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Family meant the world to Deb, but her role as “mom” held a particularly special place in her heart. While she enjoyed many things, her favorite memories were those spent fishing and camping with Rollin and Keely and laughing with her sisters.
Visitation for Deb will be on Friday, Oct. 24, from noon-2 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey. The celebration of life and interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made in Deb’s honor to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project.
