Cindy Dirmeyer

Cindy Dirmeyer, 72, of Carey, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Findlay, to H. Reid and Janet (Putnam) Heck.
Cindy graduated from Carey High School in 1972. She was employed with Carey Schools in the cafeteria where she was known as the “cookie lady” for 35 years. She retired in 2021.
On Oct. 20, 1973, she married Bob Dirmeyer and they shared 52 loving years together.
In her spare time, she enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, working in her flower garden raising beautiful flowers and spending time with her family and her dogs.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Bob Dirmeyer of Carey; her daughters, Abby Dirmeyer of Circleville; Jessica Dirmeyer of Huber Heights; and her brother, Richard (Margie) Heck of Sylvania.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, H. Reid and Janet Heck.
Visitation for Cindy will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 16, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Cynthia Morrison officiating. Burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hancock County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
