Eileen Buckland
Eileen M. Buckland, 90, of Findlay, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
Eileen was born on May 24, 1935, in Carey, to the late Robert and Juanita Mott. She married Charles Buckland and they later divorced.
Eileen is survived by her children, Cheryl Buckland (Larry) Manley, Cynthia Buckland and Robert (Tammy) Buckland; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert W. Mott.
Eileen was a 1953 graduate of Carey High School. She furthered her education and received her bachelors in music education from Findlay College. Eileen was a music teacher at Hopewell-Loudon Schools, Riverdale Schools and Carey Schools. Eileen then went back to school and obtained her masters degree in special guidance and counseling. She became the guidance counselor for Wynford Local Schools and also Upper Sandusky Schools. Eileen was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Carey, where she was the director of the children, youth and adult choirs. She also taught the Priscilla Class and Mary Martha Class at Christ Lutheran Church and she was the director of the ecumenical choir of Carey. Eileen gave many private music lessons and sang for many weddings and special occasions. Eileen was a member of the Delta Omicron Fraternity, Carey Jaycettes, Order of Eastern Stars Chapter #168, Republican Women’s Club of Hancock County, Hancock County Museum, Wyandot Tracers, PRS Club, Hancock County Retired Teachers Association and Ohio Retired Teachers Association. Most of all, Eileen enjoyed attending sports and extracurricular activities for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held in Eileen’s honor at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home, Carey.
Memorial contributions may be made in Eileen’s name to Bridge Hospice, Hospice of Wyandot Memorial, Christ Lutheran Church or Dorcas Carey Public Library.
