Robert Bowman

Robert Bowman, 87, of Mt. Blanchard, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
He was born on June 7, 1939, in Mt. Blanchard, to the late Carl and Iva (Krout) Bowman. He married Rosalyn (Suter) Bowman on Aug. 24, 1958, and she preceded him on death on April 1, 2023.
Survivors include his children, Lou Ann (Jim) Farmer of Findlay, Bradley J. (Cheri) Bowman of Mt. Blanchard and Todd A. (Vicki) Bowman of Plain City. Robert is also survived by his nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Scott D. Bowman; brothers, Jack, Jim and Kenneth Bowman; sisters, Joan Beckwith, Ruthanna Ozment, Jane Harakal, Evelyn Biery and a sister in infancy, Eloise.
Robert retired from the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company. He was a long-time member of Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church. Robert enjoyed traveling; he and his wife spent 19 winters in Arizona and went on numerous cruises. He also loved hunting and camping, especially at Bowman’s Bottom. He was on the Mt. Blanchard park board, but most of all, he loved his family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Crates Funeral Home, Arlington. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 19, at Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brett Kelly officiating. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service. A private family burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
