Virginia Weininger
Virginia L. Weininger, 83, of rural Sycamore, died at 3:33 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, at The Willows of Tiffin.
She was born in Sycamore, on Nov. 9, 1940, to George and Helen (Rapp) Gribben. She married Ray L. Weininger on Jan. 24, 1959, and he died Oct. 22, 2015.
Surviving are the following children: Daniel R. (Susan) Weininger, Dover; John K. (Katrina) Weininger, Lawrenceburg, Ind.; Tim L. (Robin) Weininger, Celina; Mark (Beth) Weininger, Upper Sandusky; and Andrea L. (Rana) Weininger, Alden, N.Y. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle, Nicholas, Morgan, Madison, Garrett, Mallory, Adriane, Lindsay, Emma and Greyson; plus one sister, Peg (Gary) Sandridge, rural Sycamore.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Konkle and Jana Kuenzli.
Virginia was a retired school teacher having taught 30 years for the Mohawk school system.
She was a 1958 graduate of Sycamore High School, a member of the Sycamore United Church of Christ, member of the Mohawk Retired Teachers Association and a former member of the Red Hat Society.
For hobbies she loved to read, go shopping and attend all of her kids’ and grandkids’ school and sporting events.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 5, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville, with the Rev. Kenneth Wessler officiating.
