Jerrold Stout
Jerrold “Jerry” Stout, 81, of Mt. Blanchard, passed on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at Bridge Home Health and Hospice, Findlay.
He was born Sept. 14, 1942, outside of Carey, to the late David E. and Martha L. (Presler). He loved his family and enjoyed the fellowship of family and friends’ gatherings. He married Ann E. Opp on Sept. 5, 1965, at Arlington United Methodist Church, Arlington, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Brian (Cheryl Corron) Stout and Steve (Ale) Stout; daughter, Marsha Blanco; two beloved granddaughters, Gail and Maya Blanco; sister, Donna (Lee) Talamantez; niece, Kim (Dave) Regnier and their family.
Jerry was a member of the Delaware Township Volunteer Fire Department for 59 years. He was the Delaware Township Volunteer Fire Chief (1972-1981) and served on the Mt. Blanchard Town Council (1971-1979). Jerry was a member of Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church and served as a trustee. He was a supporter of the Riverdale Athletic Boosters and the Eagle Creek Historical Organization. Jerry liked animals, traveling, working in his garage and mowing with his lawn mower. After graduating from Vanlue High School, he owned a milk truck route. He then transitioned to being an owner-operator trucker for several years. After serving as a fleet mechanic at Air Products, Jerry worked at Findlay Implement and then Hancock County road mowing crew. All through the years he worked on the family farms maintaining equipment, raising crops, maintaining fences and raising cattle.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Crates Funeral Home in Arlington, where the funeral will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at noon. The Rev. Jim Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, north of Mt. Blanchard.
