Melvin Presler

Melvin Presler, 86, of Vancrest Nursing Facility of Upper Sandusky and formerly of Carey, died at 2:38 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at the nursing facility.
He was born April 3, 1939, in Carey, to Howard and Frances (Phillips) Presler. They proceed him in death. He married Peggy (Perdieu) on Oct. 18, 1960, and she died on Aug. 23, 2023.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Allen Presler of Fairbanks Alaska, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Barbara King of Vanlue.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Leigh Ann and Sandra Jean Presler; brothers, Paul, Harold and Howard (Dusty) Presler; sisters, Beatrice Pahl and Frances Bennett.
Melvin was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God in Carey.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Beach Funeral Home, Carey. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. David Turner will officiate. Burial will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Carey.
Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, Carey.
